My stay at Doubletree by Hilton Austin-University Area had its ups and downs. The clean rooms and friendly staff were definite highlights, but I found the $20 nightly parking fee to be excessive. Additionally, while the breakfast options were a bit hit-or-miss, the hotel's location near the University of Texas was quite convenient for my plans.

Rooms
7.0
The rooms were clean, and I appreciated the comfortable bedding, which made for a restful sleep. However, road noise from I-35 was an issue, especially at night.
Service
6.0
The staff were generally friendly and helpful, making me feel welcome during my stay. However, there seemed to be some inefficiencies at busy times, especially during breakfast.
Location
7.0
The hotel is located conveniently near UT and downtown Austin, but I encountered some issues with traffic and road construction. It wasn't as congested as downtown but still required planning to get around.
Dining
6.0
While the breakfast I had at C3 was great one day, it was a disaster the next day due to the heavy occupancy. The offerings felt limited and were a bit pricey for what was available.
Facilities
6.0
I enjoyed using the small outdoor pool, but I found it was not very well-maintained, as it had leaves and dirt in it. The gym was a good option but quite limited in size.

5.6/10

My stay at the Doubletree was a mixed bag. On one hand, the location was super convenient for visiting the University of Texas and I appreciated the warm chocolate chip cookies at check-in. On the flip side, there was construction happening, and I was disappointed that they gave away my room with the city view. The room price felt a bit steep for what I encountered during my stay.

Rooms
6.0
The room I got was clean and spacious, though some of the views weren't as expected. The bedding was comfortable enough for a good night's sleep, which I appreciated after long days.
Service
7.0
I found the staff friendly and eager to help, especially Courtney at the front desk. However, after the power outage, they seemed a bit overwhelmed and communication dropped off.
Location
6.0
The proximity to attractions like the UT campus made it a solid choice. Being near I-35 was also convenient, but the surrounding neighborhood felt a bit rundown.
Dining
5.0
I enjoyed the warm cookies, but the breakfast was pricey for what it offered and not really worth it compared to other places I've stayed at. Plus, the cafe area was kind of cramped.
Facilities
6.0
The hotel had a small gym and a cozy pool area, which I liked. However, it felt like the overall hotel could use some updating, as parts were showing their age.

6.2/10

My stay at Doubletree By Hilton Austin-University Area had its ups and downs. While the location was fantastic for accessing the nearby UT basketball arena and the staff was friendly, there were serious noise issues from the highway. Plus, I encountered trouble with billing that really dampened the experience, despite the nice room amenities. Overall, while there were highlights, certain aspects made my stay less enjoyable than expected.

Rooms
7.0
The room was clean and comfortable, with great bedding that made for a restful night’s sleep. However, I did notice some areas needed a refresh, indicating it might not have been kept up to the usual standards.
Service
5.0
The service was friendly, particularly at check-in, where I was greeted with warm chocolate chip cookies. Unfortunately, there were issues with billing that caused a lot of frustration, as I was charged for a breakfast I thought was free.
Location
6.0
I appreciated the location close to the UT basketball arena, making it easy for me to get to my event. However, the noise from I-35 was disruptive, and the only nearby dining option was the Denny’s next door, which limited my choices.
Dining
5.0
The hotel offered a lobby buffet breakfast, but at $21 per person, it felt overpriced for the limited selection. The convenience of having Denny’s right next door did help, though, for a cheaper breakfast option.
Facilities
6.0
The hotel's facilities include a nice outdoor pool, which looked inviting, but I didn't have a chance to use it during my stay. Access to a gym was a bonus for those wanting to maintain their fitness routine while traveling.

5.2/10

I found the hotel to be clean and comfortable, but it definitely needs some updates and renovations. The staff was very friendly and helpful, which made my stay more pleasant. However, the parking fees struck me as excessive, especially given the fact that I heard about car break-ins in the area. Overall, while the location is great for accessing downtown Austin and nearby attractions, I left feeling that some improvements are necessary.

Rooms
6.0
The room I stayed in was clean and comfortable, but I noticed a few maintenance issues like a broken lamp and stains on the curtains. The bedding was cozy, which contributed to a restful night’s sleep, but overall, the rooms could use some refreshing.
Service
8.0
The hotel staff was genuinely friendly and went out of their way to make me feel welcome. Check-in was efficient, and I appreciated the warm chocolate chip cookies they offered upon arrival. I did feel a bit lost regarding breakfast times at one point, but overall, the service was a bright spot during my stay.
Location
7.0
The hotel is in a prime location near downtown Austin and the University of Texas, making it convenient for sightseeing and dining. However, it was quite noisy at times from traffic, which impacted my enjoyment. Still, being close to popular spots is a major perk.
Dining
5.0
Dining options were somewhat limited, with breakfast being overpriced for what was on offer. I found the convenience of a Denny’s next door to be a much better choice for a more budget-friendly meal. The expensive buffet didn’t seem worth the cost given the average selections available.
Facilities
6.0
The hotel had decent amenities, but I did notice that some facilities, like the pool, could use better maintenance. Additionally, the parking fees felt high, especially when considering the lack of security measures in the lot. Overall, while I appreciated the presence of a fitness center, some improvements would enhance the overall experience.

My stay at the Doubletree by Hilton Austin-University Area was a mix of positives and negatives. The location was great, right near the University of Texas and downtown attractions. I appreciated the cleanliness and comfort of the room, but I had issues with noise from the AC unit that kept me up at night. Also, the food at the hotel wasn't as good as I hoped, and I felt some aspects of the service could have been better.

Rooms
6.0
The room was clean and tidy, with comfortable bedding that made for a restful sleep. However, the AC unit was quite noisy, which detracted from my overall comfort.
Service
6.0
Though the staff was friendly and tried to be helpful, at times, I felt like the service fell short, particularly regarding responsiveness during check-in.
Location
8.0
The hotel is ideally located close to the University of Texas and downtown Austin, making it easy to explore the area and access local attractions.
Dining
5.0
I found the dining options to be overpriced and not worth it, especially compared to the nearby Denny's, which provided a more affordable breakfast alternative.
Facilities
5.0
The hotel had a small gym and lacked some amenities I expected. But the spaces were clean, which I appreciated.
